If you are a fan of the Mighty Dylan Gwinn of Sports Talk 790 (S/T 790), that's okay. If you find yourself entertained by the Mighty Phony, even if it's for the wrong reason, it's still okay.


What you don't want to find your self doing is making a mockery of yourself by calling 713-212-5790 weekdays (10am - noon) and telling the producer/call screener that you want to ask Gwinn a question. Even if you're of the opinion that Dylan Gwinn is the greatest sports talk host of all-time and his show is number one in your twisted mind, "DON'T ASK QUESTIONS".


Here's my theory folks, you see I believe that no matter the opinion you have of Gwinn in a positive manner, you likely value your own level of intelligence much more than you value any radio host and his bull crap. Listen folks, when you listen to sports talk radio hosts that are unprepared to provide their listeners credible-tangible, accurate information, because they're either too lazy to prepare properly for a broadcast or just too dumb to articulate what they've studied, "DON'T ASK QUESTIONS"! Guys like Dylan Gwinn & Rich Lord (S/R 610) appear lost on the air waves, way too often.

Too often when I monitor Gwinn's show, its a farcical comedy of errors. Gwinn's bone-headed stubbornness and poor work ethic has clearly been a setback in his growth as a host. When Gwinn first went on air I would often e-mail him with corrections for some of his most obvious flubs and inaccuracies pertaining to his ridiculous uneducated sports takes. (If Gwinn wants to dispute my comments I have those e-mails?)

In those days Gwinn and I were friends and I had no issue helping out the Mighty Dumb-Ass as well as other HMW writers. We all helped out because we genuinely liked the Mighty Phony.


HMW knows Gwinn well and we're all too aware of his shortcomings and backhanded cowardly antics. All that said, this blog article is more about you the listeners and readers than the Mighty Ship Wreck. Read my lesbian lips: DON'T ASK QUESTIONS of an idiot! Instead folks, sit back and enjoy the train wreck (10am - noon weekdays) and have a good laugh when dumb-ass callers like that "Charles" guy that calls into Gwinn's show and you're brutalized by having to listen to the ultimate idiot caller and idiot host engage each other. These guys are classic; both Gwinn and caller Charles believe they're intelligent and it's classic when they engage. The fact that Gwinn treats caller Charles, as if he's making credible intelligent sports takes, says all you need to know about Gwinn's legitimacy.

Or The Other Guy? 

What the hell is it you expect to gain from having the Dylan Gwinns and Rich Lords of the world answer your sports-related questions? They don't freakin' know their ass from a hole in the wall. There couldn't be two more unprepared, uneducated sports talk hosts in Houston.


In fact, I'll go as far to suggest that Sports Talk 790 is irresponsible for not only allowing Gwinn to be on air on a major market radio station, but to allow Gwinn to pilot a show as a solo host reeks of steep financial discourse, or just poor leadership, and judgment of talent. Or maybe the 790 decision-making brass are well aware of the daily debacle taking place on their airwaves and are so entertained by Gwinn's incompetence themselves, they can't bring themselves to fire Gwinn immediately and restore the station's professional integrity.


Avoid looking foolish folks to your golf buddies. Don't be the joke of the tailgate next Texans home game by phoning into Gwinn's show and uttering the infamous words "Dylan, I want to ask you a question". C'mon people don't do it to yourself and don't do it to us PLEASE!


COMMON SENSE, IS NOT SO COMMON THESE DAYS

Would you ask a public waste worker to outline the deficiencies in your portfolio? NO! Would you consult with a horse on homeland security? NO! Would you hire a crackhead as a CPA or a babysitter? NO! Would you hire Gary Kubiak as a head football coach of an NFL franchise; who the hell would do that?! (Oh yeah..that's been done.) The point is folks is that most of you listeners are more informed than Dylan Gwinn or Rich Lord. In fact folks, you're smarter than most of the sports talk hosts in Houston and you probably realize it, but you listen daily by means of habit more so than for credible information.


Stop embarrassing your spouses and your children folks by asking questions of fools! Just call the local host and give them your take and then lay back and watch them slaughter your comments by correcting your accurate take with their personal agenda and just plain old stupidity!
