On a similar note, I kept reminding people at the DC rally to take it easy and walk slowly because the greencard office had closed early that day and they wouldn't get their GCs at the rally finish line, what was the hurry about? :)

if they've less calls, they can do some other real work.
in any case..they took 1-3 months in case of reciepting 65K H1s. How soon do you think they can receipt 10 times that number..
That was before their newly found 'effeciency'...
more recently, they took 2 days (not even working days) to APPROVE 25000 AOS applications, how hard do you think it is for them to issue receipts ? :)

Can you copy and paste the exact letter, i mean to ask the exact letter means does it contain any agent id.
1. Did you opened any SR in TSC around 10/14 or 10/15, We have a group of people who had the same problem in TSC during those days. all the letters replied by the same agent.
2. Find out from attorney if he charges any fee for this. If so please don't go with him.
take an info pass and find out the details.
This is the best way to find out. (As i told you the group of people got the same response, most of them took info pass and found that nothing wrong in their case)
Nothing to worry, most of the cases it might be a mistake by the agent. or in some cases it is pending for minor verification.

1. The Feb bulletin would not have said EB-2 India had used up its annual limit.
2. The June Bulletin would not have said EB-3 will retrogress or become unavailable starting July [which starts a new quarter].
Both make no sense. Or alternatively, there is no such law and DOS can release visa numbers without the "quarterly" constraint. It may have been a practise in the past, but clearly since 2007, they have become keen to see visa numbers not go waste and they appear to have changed the trend.
Only a tiny fraction of applications are on . It really is nowhere enough to draw a meaningful analysis of approval trends.

Q : Must an H-1B alien be working at all times?
As long as the employer/employee relationship exists, an H-1B alien is still in status. An H-1B alien may work in full or part-time employment and remain in status. An H-1B alien may also be on vacation, sick/maternity/paternity leave, on strike, or otherwise inactive without affecting his or her status.

to get the receipts. Lets not bug them and have them work instead on receipting. With over 500K+ applications, it'd be a while to get the reciept..

Highly recommended especially, if your company pays for it (mine did not)!
I know lot of us have tough schedule but this bill will get rid of large pool-
I would think 30-35% - Why? Lets see EB1's are definitely out- Plus most EB2's (except Bachelors + 5 yrs exp guys) will be out.
Don't give me any Red dots over this- Just a humble opinion. So, lets says it gets rid of 30% in queue, it's as good as Increasing visas to 182K!

The Bill has gone too far from what it means.Why didn't the congressman ask the American employers the same questions they asked other big companies.The H1 and L1 classifications allows them for gouging but the bill is not the answer for it.They are trying to show the stats that supports their insane bill.

Pay and move forward. Most of us have spent years to get this stage. Do not spoil it now....hopefully more $$$ will pour in once you get past this stage!
I guess most of the folks here are busy preparing to apply for 485. I have different problem here.
My employer's attorney is charging me outrageous fees of around $5000 to
apply for 485, AP and EAD for me and my spouse. This excludes USCIS fees. I work on hourly basis, so I should be taking care of immigration fees. My employer is not allowing me to file through another law firm.
Do I have any other options. How much do they charge usually.
I guess most of the folks here are busy preparing to apply for 485. I have different problem here.
