610 AM (KILT) PRE GAME AND POST GAME SHOW

08-30-2010

Pregame
The pregame show was awesome. In fact it was so awesome, I didn't even listen to it.  I purposely did not pay any attention to pregame because I didn't want to hear anyone contradict themselves during the post game.

Post Game

I am not into smack talk with the Cowboys and Titans but when I witnessed the photo above, I quickly got my smack talk on.  That picture is a microcosm of the whole game.  Dallas getting taken on a slay ride.

It's more fun writing after the Texans comes out and perform.

The post game show opened up with N.D. joking about being on the phone with his travel agent trying to book hotel tickets for the Super Bowl.  They quickly took out to Gary Kubiak's press conference.  Kubiak said the biggest disappointment about the Saints game was when they were down 14-7 near the 40 yard line with the chance to get back in the game and they turned the ball over.

By the looks of the game last night, I am sure turnovers was a point of emphasis.

IT'S TIME FOR YOUR CALLS

10:26 Pam is excited about the Texans but she's suspect about it being Dallas 4th game.

N.D. addresses the young lady by saying they have starters out and it's not the Cowboys you will see in the regular season.  John said he simply wanted to see them play better and he did.  He also believes Cody should receive more credit.

I too was like Pam but after I seen a flustered Romo I quickly realized they wanted to look good which they did not.  I also agree with N.D. however I am thinking if these guys are hurt it's not like they all going to magically return on the same day and when they return how soon will they be back in game form.  Do anyone remember the results of Dunta Robinson sitting out the preseason?  It took Dunta practically 4 games to get back to game condition.

10:30 Andre said the game was good but he's concern about the Red Zone.

John said that Meyers blew one in the Red Zone.  N.D. said he could tell that the Andre was intelligent and actually watched the game (watch out now Kalu, you are not allowed to notice a caller's intellect).  He went to say they can move the ball between the 20s at will but can't push it in the Red Zone.

I am not exactly sure what John was speaking on and I hope he elaborate Monday.  This is weird especially after a weak long of saying Josh is arrogant with callers but N.D. told the guy he was intelligent and that was solid.  In regards to the Red Zone, I have 2 suggestions, Naked Bootleg and Foster.

The three begin talking amongst each other (Brad, Kalu, Jlo) and John said their very few teams that have some one on their squad that will flat out embarrass you and the Texans have two (Mario and Andre).  N.D. says to give credit to Kubiak and this is nothing more than scheming, play calling and coaching.

Currently 610 morning show is looking for a nickname for Foster but I think they need a name for Andre Johnson and that name should be. BEAST.  How many times have you looked at a man drag another man ten damn yards.  Click Below for game highlights

10:39 Kyle don't feel the Cowboys gave any competition and he don't see why they feel the Texans are a Playoff team.

10:41  JLo says he think Schaub will have less numbers and a better year.  Brad said a balance attack is the goal.

SPOT ON

10:44  I streamed the post game and therefore I am not sure if this promo was on the radio but it said "Join the Fraternity".  The fraternity being SR610.  QQ@ Gavin Spittle the clever SOB.  I have heard of THE FRAT somewhere before.

Brad was impressed by Amobe's play.  Kalu said all jokes aside Amobe was beating up on a pro bowl center

No joke at all, Amobe was getting his man for really.

The guys begin comparing the Texans to the Cowboys which led JLo to ask, who is the most underachieving team since the Texans inception.  Brad says no doubt it's the Cowboys with their one playoff win in 15 years.  N.D. was trying to be fair in notating that the Cowboys had traveled from Cali to San Antonio to Dallas and now Houston, he felt like the Texans the guys simply wanted to get home.

That was cool of N.D. to keep it 100.  I didn't realize the travels of Dallas but OH WELL.

10:40 Tony asked N.D. about his golf game out @ Swanson.  He met N.D. out @ Coaches in Katy.  He didn't see Cushing around the ball and it was nice to see him not flying around in the preseason.

JLo & N.D. that at the game Cushing was all over the field and TV does not allow you to see everything.  N.D. went on to say to say the one game he don't mind Cushing missing is the Colts because of Clarke.

I have heard N.D. make this point before and I tried to hold back but that's not completely accurate about Cushing and Clarke.  If you go back and watch that game sure enough Clarke bust Cushing for like 14 catches in the first half but Cushing shut Clarke down in the second.  Lesbo brought something to my attention about that game as well, most of those catches were hot routes and dump passes.  It was not like Clarke totally raped Cushing for the full game.  They both got the best of each other.

10:52 Albert is not going to get excited about the game but this game let him know week 3 is going to be a good game.

10:55  Larry feels good Jacoby and what will it take for Amobe to be more consistent.

N.D. said he believes Amobe needs to be relieve of some of his off the field contributions.  It would be in his best interest to hire a staff to handle his charity involvements and business ventures.  In a nutshell Amobe is trying to do too much.

11:00 Another promo said if you missed anything you can go to the 610 website and find it on podcast.

Now that's a blatant LIE.  This is something I have been harping on for a while.  The only thing that's podcast is interviews and features.  SR610 use to podcast full shows but they don't anymore.

11:02 Promo for Earl Campbell Sausage.  About a month ago, Earl said he wanted to be a part of the Texans in some capacity but I didn't think he meant sausage.  I am just kidding, I do realize Campbell's business with SR610 is independent of the Texans but I have yet to hear a follow up on Earl's request.

11:03  Brad notated that Foster's 110 yards was the first time that was accomplished by a Texan in preseason.  N.D. says alot of those yards was up the gutt and not outside.  Jlo said it should be noted that Wade Smith was on the left in which the Texans ran.

11:09 Stephanie believes we should be loud and we should be excited and she's going to the Colts game ready to play.

All 3 guys agree

11:19  Barry Warner believes Jacoby and Foster have matured but the underlining theme no one is talking about is Jerimiah Johnson, he showed the quicks today.  T O P, Time Of Possession is how you beat Peyton.

I agree with Barry fully but don't everyone say this about Peyton?

  • N.D. is worried about Tim Bullman not being replaced and it will be seen later in the season
  • N.D. is wondering about Jerry Jones and this game
  • Barry said Wade Phillips never looked at the Texans first two games on film
I am with N.D. on Bullman however Jerry Jones is not exactly playing with the team of the 90s.  I don't think Dallas have that swagger as they did back in the 90s thanks to free agency.  I can only imagine what's going to be said about Wade on Dallas radio this week.  There are some things you don't publicly say and that was one of them.

11:25 Matt wanted to know what happened to Slaton

Barry said Turf Toe and most people don't realize that Turf Toe ended Jack Lambert's career.

My Analysis

I listened closely last night to validate an article that's coming.  In a lost to the Saints, the host had to humble themselves to chalks it up as a preseason game however in a win it's much more hard to not get excited about an "in state" rival.  The guys did well by simply observing the game and giving praise where praise was do.  Again the guys got in an abundance off calls and conducted dialogue with them.  It was an added feature of Barry coming in late but he brought some information to the table.  Brad Davies played point guard all to well as he set up Kalu and Lopez for the next play.  I was let down when I did not hear about Roy Williams getting the best of Kareem Jackson but in all fairness I tuned out about 45 minutes before show end.  Maybe I am wrong but I seen several plays where Roy had Kareem smoked and I may be over blowing it but it was something I noticed.

In conclusion, like last week I said the reason the Texans lost was Voodoo, well this week I know why we seen a fired up more energetic Texans. After watching the performance against the Saints, Bob McNair went and purchased a box of Power Balance Wrist Bands and issued them to the whole staff.
