PRESEASON IT'S SUCH A BEAUTIFUL BEAST

I FREAKING LOVE IT

If you have been listening to Sports Talk Radio over the last three weeks, you may have heard the professionals say this "it's only the preseason" or "the outcome does not matter".  While this is true, the only other time in Texans history I can remember being this pumped over preseason was the inaugural season.  We the fans are not stupid enough to put stock into a preseason win or loss.  We the fan realize the starters are going to get minimal play in the first game, slightly more in the second game and over 50% in the third game and the scrubs to get on camera will play the majority of the fourth game.  WE UNDERSTAND THAT.  Here's one I bet you didn't think we know, we know that although this is third preseason game and players normally go hard but in the case of the Texans this year playing against the Cowboys who is playing their fourth game, the play calling will be basic to say the least.  We are not hedging our bets on the outcome of this game especially when we will face them almost four weeks from now.  We are pumped up because it feels good.

THE QUESTION TO BE ASKED
I think the more pressing question is, why are you guys trying to silence our thunder.  It's beginning to feel like a whole bunch of media professionals trying to show they are not silly enough to put stock in a preseason game.  You will not lose any credibility by saying you are excited about Preseason.  We all excited to see football period. We are in the days where the Texans are blowing loud train horns to get into the games and on the other hand we are told not to get to jacked up about Preseason.  Let me put this in layman's terms, do you think the Texans organization are saying "Don't get too excited about Preseason" and I am not talking about the football side I am talking about the operation.  I bet if you were to ask Jamie Roots, "how do you feel about this preseason craziness" he would say "I LOVE IT.

In nine years we finally have the fans at a point where we are demanding more of the team and we are told not to get so jacked over preseason.  It's almost like the powers that be is afraid of a let down.  Do you realize if this many people are into preseason this forces Gary Kubiak and crew to deliver.  What pressure would be on Gary and Crew if 4 million people after New Orleans were to say IT'S ONLY PRESEASON WHO CARES.

We fell for this once with Marc Vandermeer last year after the Jets loss.  After our first regular season loss to the Jets was basically saying it's only game 1 then 17 weeks later it was that first game the difference of a playoff birth.  Marc before you go postal on me, I didn't quote you because I know you hate that.  In all fairness Marc was not the only person that said it's only the first game.  In my heart, I feel like every time the Texans step on the field they should play to win, the days of IT'S ONLY are gone.  They could be playing flag football against a bunch of girl scouts, I want them to beat the cookies out of them.  This team don't have enough equity for slack from the fans.  The fans need to stay on that ass.

THE REASON FOR THE FAN DEMANDS
If a non Houston fan were to move here and evaluate our history:

  • Did not make the playoffs

  • No major Off Season Acquisition

  • Hardest Schedule in the NFL

  • Extended Gary Kubiak

  • Lost a valuable second round pick

  • Lost one of the best Linebackers in the NFL for 4 games

  • Hardest Division

What kind of dope these fans are smoking?  Those reasons are the very reasons we are so pumped.  When face with greater odds of winning people are known to rise to the occasion.  Dylan Gwinn contrary to your popular belief, your show is not the reason the fans are going bunkers.  Sure enough it's good to hear a voice enter our city with a different opinion but you are not the reason.  If that was the case Josh Innes, Brien Straw, Joe O'Donnel and the rest of the newbies could claim the same thing.  That's almost similar to me saying the Texans released Chris Brown (RB) because I WAS UPSET at the half-back pass.  In the Mighty words of Dylan I bring you the REASON for this change.  Listen Below.

ARROGANCE
This Brien Straw of SR610 guy is quickly becoming the most arrogant host in Houston.  I am not sure if that's a good or bad thing but I know he's arrogant.  There is one thing when Josh Innes takes a call and don't engage in dialogue, it's a whole different ball game when Brien solicits Cowboy calls and when they call he hangs up on them.  This guy know absolutely nothing about Texas Football and he tries to do what Barry and Marc do with callers but it simply don't work with him.  Even his Sunday co host constantly ask him why did you dump that call.  The truth of the matter is, Brien can have an opinion about athletes and situations but the minute a caller tells him off, he hit the dump button like a little girl.  Stop being so sensitive when the caller is not kissing your ass.  As far as Texas Football, I have a message for Gavin Spittle that clever SOB.  When you go and hire these out of state guys, instead of throwing them on the air because they can compile a grammatically correct sentence, you should make them go watch a season of High School Football.  I heard the Mike dude say he is looking for Mario to play better than he did against the Saints. Really?  Do he realize Mario only played one effin series?

HMW is trying to make this fun with talk radio but the host are basically telling the callers to leave.  We are encouraging people to listen to stations but how can you go to bat for someone when fans are treated like a Southwest Airline customer.
