THE MORNING AFTER PILL
After yesterday's game, I came to the conclusion that the Texans is effecting my mood, health and attitude. I knew the only way I would get out of this funk by listening to some venom on the radio. Initially I tuned in to 790 KBME, they were lighting it up and then 1560 KGOW, they were the same. I didn't want to listen to 610 KILT because I thought I was going to chunk my radio from their analysis but to my surprise, The Morning Show was really different.
I begin listening in the 8 o'clock hour. Josh was expressing his feelings about what the fans need to do for Bob McNair to get the message. Josh feels that the only way McNair will get the message is if the fans stay home. Marc Vandermeer was livid about Josh's comment. Marc didn't think it was appropriate for Josh to insinuate a Texan Boycott. The two went at it openly "on air" about three minutes before John Lopez parted them. Once cooler heads prevailed, Lopez said he sided with Josh.
The exchange between Marc and Josh was "good radio". Both personalities were dug in and very passionate about their positions. I agree with Josh's point and I thought it was CHEAP of Marc Vandermeer to accuse Josh of boycotting the Texans. Josh pretty much stated the obvious that if the stadium is empty, the owner will take issue to it. I am not sure if Marc's job security is at stake here with this losing streak but he's clearly in damage control mode for lashing out at Josh Innes for telling the truth.

MATT SCHAUB SEGMENTS
If the cat fight between Marc and Josh was not enough, Matt Schaub slightly raised the bar. Matt Schaub appeared testy on the show. There was one caller that said "What's Up and how is your day" the hosts tried to laugh it off but Schaub was not in the laughing mood. Another caller asked Schaub if he worked on his agility, the ability to avoid sacks as Testy Schaub quickly said he didn't get sacked in yesterday's game and he only got knocked down once. The last caller asked Schaub if he will prepare differently for the Jets. Schuab said in a feisty mode, he do the same thing.
Schaub takes alot of heat and it's big of him to conduct interviews especially in times like these however I think that's part of the problem.
John McClain
John McClain followed Matt Schaub and this was a different General. The General sound sadden and disgusted, I am sure all of this will change by tomorrow. Out of The General's own mouth he said:
- Shock and Disbelief, angry at halftime
- Hope after Scobee missed field goals
- reminded him the last time Schaub went to OT in 2007
Marc said on the 3 and 15 play at the end of the 4th quarter, he believed they picked the wrong play with the TE going through the middle. John didn't like the play selection because they wouldn't have gotten the kick off even if Dressen would have made the 1st down. All of this led up to JLO asking the General about Schaub's "spike the ball" answer after the game. The General act as if he didn't understand what JLO was asking which caused Marc to jump in and it was alot of confusion. Finally the General said some people act like Schaub for got the down and he didn't believe it was the case. Marc agreed. Marc wanted to get into the General's Tweet. Apparently the General tweeted: worse pass defense he's ever seen in all of his years covering the NFL. The General
backed up his tweets thoroughly and went on to say he believes Sanchez will tear them up too. In closing, the General said they all will be fired if this continues.
Other than Marc purposely confusing Jlo's question to the General, this was a powerful segment. I never heard the General so somber. It was if he came to reality and realized what's at hand. I really wonder what the General really think. I do believe something is about to happen because so many hush people are rumbling about firing.
*******
After the General left, Marc and Jlo continued the show. Marc believes the way the defense is playing, there is zero margin of error for the offense. Jlo believes the offense is good.
Jlo went on to talk about 53-83 record with the Texans which averages out at 6 wins per season and he believes the city deserve more. Marc shuns off the whole 6 wins per season average. Jlo suddenly turned Adam Wexler with the stats begin listing receivers that had career days with the Texans and by what margin.
Joey Gallow 60 Yards
Roy Williams 30 Yards
Zack Miller 57 Yards
Dwane Bowe 45 Yards
TuTu 64 Yards
Mike Thomas 60 Yards
Those numbers are pathetic.
PROMOTION TIME
During a promo Josh said he and Gavin were going to Delta Downs in Venton, LA.
Brown Noser
9:02 I text Marc and Jlo asking if they could address this "riff" between Gary & Rick.
Yesterday on 610 am I heard one of the host say there were some issues between Gary and Rick and I wanted Marc and Jlo to talk about it but of course they did not, moving on.
9:05 Josh sarcastically apologized to Marc about his honesty in regards to the Texans. Marc replied that he is with Josh, they are playing bad
9:06 Josh said he's been saying this for the longest and the signs were there and you can't ignore the signs. At this point Josh throws in one of his many analogies and this was about ignoring the symptoms of diabetes. There so many signs pointing to things going wrong. Marc jumped in and told Josh to go back and listen to some of Kubiak earlier comments before Josh jumped in frustrated and said he believe if he listen to Kubiak today he will hear the same ole stuff. At the end of Josh's rant, Jlo became Jlo and said "I BEEN SAYING THAT ALL ALONG"
JOSH NAILED IT
N.D. Kalu
One of the first times I ever heard ND Kalu flustered. There were times during the off season where ND was upset about the negative coverage Jack Yates Basketball was receiving. Kalu begin by saying, every QB that play the Texans instantly become a "stat guy". He also believes the offense is doing their job and no one need to point out the your play makers like Andre Johnson.
Marc says if Gary loses his job, he can say "I never got it right on defense"
Kalu says he's not a "stat guy" and it seems like we are digging stats to support Kubiak.
Marc replies no no I'm not doing that, it's Kubiak's team
MONEY SHOT
JLO asked Kalu to pretend he was the GM. What would he do?
Kalu replied first of all I would need to know the power structure. If you don't have the power to fire a coach, you are not a coach you are a scout. They need to call you president of scouting.
Goodness, it's getting super raw in this mug
MY TAKE
Good show today but who cares, they will be kissing Kubiak's ass by Wednesday. Wednesday, when the General return for his full show, they will all collectively kiss a Gary Kubiak's ass replica. Two people (Josh and Jlo) in a full time job capacity that try to honestly speak about the Texans but it's silenced by all of the false hope spewed by others. I really hope this fan base becomes apathetic because it will not only cause the Texans to make changes but others will be forced to do things different ie THE MEDIA who also stands to lose something out of this. Apathetic fans don't want to listen to radio, read newspapers/blogs, or visit sites. When they are turned off they are turned completely off.
FIRING KUBIAK
I am going to prove why everyone who say FIRE KUBIAK is lying to themselves and still drinking the coolaid. If you are at the point you want Kubiak gone NOW, that means you have given up on this season however what you will hear is "what good would come out of firing him now?" Interesting since we have CBA on the horizon and if a new coach is hired, he will not have a chance to communicate with the team until late summer. The truth is, some coolaid drinkers in the media still have a glimmer of hope for Kubiak and they would like to see him pull this off. It's the same thing as the Kicker Kris Brown, he was suppose to be replaced in season last year but hope kept him alive. So if you got balls to say Kubiak needs to be fired, you need to have the balls to say it RIGHT NOW. I am to the point, I don't want Kubiak here even if he make the playoffs. The dude is the pro version of Les Miles but at least Les have a positive pedigree. With that being said, my 2010 is over, I am no longer following the Texans religiously and if they were to fire Kubiak today, I would go to church Sunday.
Bob McNair
I believe Bob McNair should cease control to his son. Week after week I hear media professionals say "Mcnair knows squat about football". I never wanted to believe but now I do. He should allow his son to run the team so he can focus on his horses because he obviously don't know how to run the Texans in terms of football. When the Tailgate Policy is the biggest change on your team, something is clearly wrong.
