I just got my EAD yesterday (with 1 year validity even though PD is not current). My company lawyer will contact USCIS about this, will update once I have any info.
Received only one year EAD .I will have to call USCIS for incorrect validity date of issued EAD.
Did anybody contact USCIS regarding 1 year validity?

In the previous month, EB3-INDIA date was April22nd,2001. Now it moved to May8th2001. Now, the people with PD's from April22rd2001 to May7th2001 are eligible to apply or ready for adjudication of 485. That means, probably, there are lot of 485(245i) cases to be adjudicated? What do you all think?

Probably, nothing wrong to discriminate against h1b holders, but discrimination against citizens maybe taken seriously. As such, it is at company's discretion to hire u or not, internally, from what I learnt, if the company decides to hire u, they hire u, if not, they may give u this as a reason because they may have found someone with same skills but without requirement for sponser.
If a company desperately needs u, they will do anything to hire u. If company thinks it must not have to deal with legal issues and overheads, it may not hire u, may keep u on hold.
Basically, we are on our own, and we can only try and try. It is the land of opportunities, and there will be opportunities for everyone somewhere.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.

What do you say to people who have been waiting from 2002 and 2003 and 2004, as of today there is no difference for person who got labor approved in May 2007 and case with priority date May 2003. For lot of them it has been a frustrating and stressful period, mainly because their spouses have been idle.
How on earth can you come with this idea, see the traffic on this site now, when core IV team was fighting for the retrogression and other benefits for our cause, there were very few. The world is selfish buddy. I wish you good luck on this idea.

I request everybody to add one line in the letter for Consular processing filers as they should be allowed to get AC21 and EAD facilities now. This law came earlier only for 485 filers because CP process was fast but now due to retrogession all CP filers are waiting for Years and in the worst sitauation as 485 filers are enjoying their freedom with AC21 and EAD

With a comment "ooooo". I want the IV admin's to find out who that coward is and ban them from any and every board that is out there on internet. I'm certain you cannot do that. While applying for H1B Visa, you can use experience in lieu of education, but while Perm/I140, they consider only 1 degree. Either its Masters or its Bachelors...even both of them are not considered as aggregates.

Surprisingly today I got second LUD on AP. Content is changed as under.

Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On November 7, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service
I received my AP on Nov 3 and looking at the AP doc it had an approval date of Oct 10 whereas I had "Document mailed to applicant" message on Oct 31.
I am not sure what happened between Oct 10 and Oct 31st.

Keep in mind that it is higly likely that DOS has changed its strategy of releasing visa numbers starting this year. Previously, they would release numbers per quarter. But this time, from all accounts it appears they have moved away from that model to improve USCIS efficiency. They may have released almost all of the annual quota by now.

Check the Feb 2007 visa bulletin where they made EB2 India Unavailable as the annual quota was over. It came back again only because there was spillover from ROW.
Based on this, it is very unlikely that there will be much forward movement in July.
if they did what u say they did.. they violated the law. thats what gotcher is talking about. plus using up 140k visas without a substantial impact being seen on the forums is highly unlikely.
last year in june and july when they issued 60k visas there was huge spike in approvals and it was seen on the forums/on /IV/ immigration portal.
there has not been such an observed event this year. the reason eb2 india went to U was because they had used up the quota associated with per country caps and the category and quarter sub quotas.
what we are seeing now/ will see in this fiscal year will be spill over visas. where it occurs is anybody's guess.
