THE CRIER'S BCS ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT

WEEK #3: AND THEN THERE WERE TEN LITTLE INDIANS, AS FIVE MORE TEAMS GET ELIMINATED!

The Crier’s playoff elimination tournament started two weekends ago with 28 teams and saw 13 of those teams get knocked out during the first two weeks.

Now you can add five more teams that find themselves out of the "Bigger Dance", as they lost during Week #3 of the tourney. This week's losers included #3 Oklahoma, #8 LSU, #12 Iowa, #14 Oklahoma State, and #15 West Virginia.

Three of this week's tourney losers above lost in head-to-head match-ups vs. other tourney teams. These games were written up in a previous post, which were for reading purposes only: Oklahoma lost to #6 Missouri, 36-27; LSU lost to #7 Auburn, 24-17; and Iowa lost to #13 Wisconsin, 31-30. The Crier was 1-2 SU and 2-1 ATS in these three head-to-head games (5-5 SU and 6-4 ATS cumulative after three weeks of this unique tournament).

Please be reminded again that according to tournament rules, all tourney losers this week are out of the hunt no matter how well they play the remainder of the season.

As mentioned previously, the purpose of these rankings is to determine the top two teams standing as of December 4. Hopefully, the BCS people will have the same two teams as "The Crier" for their championship game when all is said and done.

Below are the results of this past week (#9 Florida State was idle and #5 Boise State plays Tuesday night, as that game’s results will be included with next week’s results):

Rank -Team - Record – Opponent - Score

2 Stanford (6-1) beat Washington State, 38-28

5 Boise State (6-0) DNP
6 Missouri (7-0) beat Oklahoma, 36-27
7 Auburn (8-0) beat LSU, 24-17
8 LSU (7-1) lost to Auburn, 24-17
9 Florida State (6-1) DNP
10 Michigan State (8-0) beat Northwestern, 35-27
11 Utah (7-0) beat Colorado State, 59-6

13 Wisconsin (7-1) beat Iowa, 31-30

On Tuesday, the revised rankings of the remaining ten teams will be posted here. Please note that there are no head-to-head matchups next week.
