CRIER'S CORNER - THE CRIER'S BCS ELIMINATION TOURNAMENT

AND THEN THERE WERE FIFTEEN, AS FIVE MORE TEAMS GET ELIMINATED!

The Crier’s playoff elimination tournament started last week with 28 teams and saw eight of those teams get knocked out during the initial weekend.

Now you can add five more teams that find themselves out of the "Bigger Dance", as they lost during Week #2 of the tourney. This week's losers included #6 Nebraska, #9 South Carolina, #10 Ohio State, #15 North Carolina State, and #17 Arkansas.

Two of this week's tourney losers lost in head-to-head match-ups vs. other tourney teams. These games were written up in a previous post, which were for reading purposes only: Ohio State lost to #18 Wisconsin, 31-18, while Arkansas lost to #12 Auburn, 65-43. All of this week's losers were Vegas point-spread favorites except for Arkansas. The Crier was 1-1 both SU and ATS in those two head-to-head games (4-3 SU and ATS cumulative after two weeks).

Please be reminded again that according to tournament rules, all tourney  losers this week are out of the hunt no matter how well they play the remainder of the season. Two of the pre-season favorites to appear in the BCS Championship Game, Alabama (last week) and Ohio State (this week) have already been eliminated from future tourney consideration.

As mentioned previously, the purpose of these rankings is to determine the top two teams standing as of December 4. Hopefully, the BCS people will have the same two teams as "The Crier" for their championship game when all is said and done.

Below are the results of this past week (#1 Oregon and #4 Stanford were idle this week):

13 Michigan State (7-0) beat Illinois, 26-6
